How we deliver
What is Policy

Policy is not just a document. It is a collection of principles, rules, and responsibilities that guide how you manage an issue.

Effective policy is tailored. Even templates must reflect your ethos, your legal rules, your roles and responsibilities. This involves at least four steps:

1 Discovery

Identify legal rules about mandatory policies or for specific policy topics.

Review current policies, processes, and examples from comparable organisations. Confirm your preferred positions and options.

Write policy and supporting documents for review and consultation, before approval and implementation.

"Policy is what you do"
- Former Dean of the ANU Crawford School of Public Policy

Why have Policy

You have policy when you need a clear organisational position on an issue and steps to achieve it consistently.

The need comes from a law says you must have a policy. Or from your important operations - for example a clear position and steps to guide people who:

  • manage child protection and risk

  • charge fees and manage debt

  • engage in frequent paid travel

Clarify your structure and main operations. This identifies relevant laws, policies and processes you need, and how you currently manage these issues.

Compliance Assurance

How we deliver
When do you need compliance assurance

When you have any question about your legal obligations.
When you may be audited and ranked on your compliance .

Do you comply with all obligations in the Education and Care Services National Law and Quality Framework?

Are you confident you meet all registration requirements?

Do your people understand their obligations under the Corporations Act, Charities Act, Work Health and Safety, Child Protection - and more?

Compliance assurance is two-fold:

  1. Do your policies and processes meet legal obligations?

  2. Do your people follow them consistently - and can you provide evidence of it?

Compliance Challenge

Education and charitable organisations operate under complex laws and can be audited, reviewed, and ranked - without specialist training.

The scale is huge. When managing all policy and procedure for 65 charitable schools and early learning centres, I learned over 150 regulations can apply to everyday operations.

With over 20 years' experience I provide you the tools, knowledge, and confidence to navigate this and make the grade.

I provide enterprise-wide or topic-specific review and assurance, aligning regulatory obligations to your policy and management, and your evidenced practices.
